Kadai Tofu Recipe

Kadai Tofu is a very simple and easy recipe made by cooking tofu and bell peppers with the essence of Indian ground spices and it’s cooked in a special Indian utensil called ‘Kadai which is essential and probably be found in every Indian kitchen. Kadai paneer also is a bit healthier version of Kadai paneer as tofu has some health benefits over paneer like it has no fat and no cholesterol in it

  • 250g Soyuz Tofu ( diced )
  • 1 cup onion ( finely chopped )
  • 1 capsicum ( sliced )
  • 3 tbsp coriander leaves ( for garnishing )
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 3 tbsp Cream
  • 2 tsp Ginger-garlic paste
  • 3 tsp Oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Dried fenugreek leaves
  • 2 tsp Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1 tsp Kasuri methi
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar

These are all the ingredients you would require in this recipe to make the best Kadai tofu you have ever eaten.


Step 1: Take a non-stick pan, add some oil to it. Once the oil starts getting hot add ginger-garlic paste and saute onions until it turns brown.

Step 2: Now throw all the spices in the pan, turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala, coriander powder, and dried fenugreek leaves, and cook for about 5 minutes on medium flame.

Step 3: Add tomato puree and water, cook it again for 10 minutes.

Step 4: Now put in the sliced capsicum, tofu, sugar, salt, cream, and water; mix them well and cook for another 5 minutes.

Step 5: It’s Ready !! Serve the dish and garnish it with some coriander leaves.
